What you need to know

Foreign nationals undergo border checks when entering Georgia. The law sets out grounds for refusing entry. A short trip outside Georgia therefore does not guarantee admission on return and does not replace an appropriate legal basis for residence.

What to do in practice

Before travelling, check the entry rules applicable to your nationality and documents, your permitted period of stay and any restrictions. Prepare accurate information about the purpose of your trip. If entry is refused, keep the decision and promptly assess the appeal procedure.

General information. The rules and documents applicable to your particular case require an individual assessment.
